Attempt to Identify Shooting Suspects & Vehicle

SARASOTA, FL. – December 16, 2016   – 2:30 p.m.

Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects and a vehicle that was used in a drive-by shooting.  The shooting occurred in the 2000 block of 28th Street, Sarasota, at approximately 4:54 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.

The suspects are described as two black males between the ages of 16 and 20.  They were last seen fleeing the area northbound on North Washington Boulevard.  Witnesses described the vehicle as a faded blue/purple 1996/1997 Chevy Cavalier with a sunroof and spoiler.

The male juvenile victim was shot twice and was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital Trauma Center where he underwent surgery.  Detectives do not believe this incident is a random act of violence.  Detectives are still working to determine the identity of the suspects responsible for the shooting.
